  • Company repossessed vehicle 3 days after payment due. Refused to give information and demanded $1000.00 in cash to tell where vehicle located along with bank statements, 5 references, paycheck stubs, insurance information and registration. Company is loan shark. Company bought loan form another lender without consent. Company has been reported the State of California Attorney General, reported to The BBB, and suit filed in small claims court. Complaint
  • I was barely one month late, and they attempted to repo my car. Well the next day a Private investigator wanted to speak with me regarding a Felony that is being filed against me... HA!!! bull shit I cant wait to get out of this loan.
  • I had a three year loan for over 13, 000, which I paid off within 2.5 years. I purchased the car in 2000 and in my state they were not required to start reporting until 2001. I have tried feverishly to get this company to report to all 3 credit reporting agencies so that I can increase my FICO and they will not.
    • They told me to request the agencies to report it, but the agencies said AL Financial MUST report it, I called back and all they offered was to mail me a document that I can have in my own personal files, how is that solving this I must ask??
  • I cosigned a loan for my daughter. She wasn't even a month late with her payment when they repossessed the car. We had to come up with $1, 800.00 before they would tell us where the car was and then the tow company had broken the driver side window. We had to fight with them for a week to get the window replaced and then they sent us to a repair shop over an hour away from our home. I was never happier to pay off a loan in my life. I would never do business with them again!!
  • My first payment was due on the 7th I sent a money order on the 3rd they repos sed my car on the 22nd. When I called the next day to find out what happened The rep said finally I told her I had my receipt and she even told me they have problems processing money orders they still requested I pay my note plus a $19 dollar late fee and a $550.00 repo fee in order to get my car. I offered to pay the note and the late fee and they could just apply the money order to my next months payment since I had just put $2000.00 cash I was told no. They made me pay all the fees and once I did that and faxed everything plus I had to get a police release for them picking it up at my house(crazy) I asked where the car was she said I don't know I just have a number. I called the Tow yard they said I needed an appointment even though they are open 8:30- 5PM and since it was 3:45 and the last appointment was at 4 I have to wait until Tuesday to get my car and I don't know how far I have to drive to get there. They are charging me $25 dollars a day from Thursday. When I get my car I plan on filing a small claims case and going to the media I don't think they should be able to take advantage of people I would like to go picket outside the office. Has anyone had any luck on there law suit or complaint against them? I was told by the rep she is not in the business for customer service, can they report this on my credit since it was never 30 days past due?
  • This company attempted to contact me on my cell phone and when they could not reach me I received a notice two days later saying I had to surrender my car immediately or be subject to criminal prosecution for "embezzlement". They called my references and asked to speak with me and when they were told I did not live there they would hang up and call back again insisting on speaking with me. My friend said they called him three times in less than two minutes and he finally just let their calls go to voicemail. This company has predatory business practices and I encourage everyone to report them to the BBB.
  • My name is Kelli. Unfortunately I too was screwed by A-L financial. Almost 6 months after they illegally repossessed my vehicle I get a letter in the mail with a warrant for my arrest with a bail amount set for 2500. This company repossessed my vehicle after I made payment arrangements to bring my payments current. I made my payment as agreed and when I called to give him the conformation my finance manager said that I was 25 dollars short and in order to keep my car from being late I would have to make that payment right then and there. I was on my lunch hour at work when I western union the payment because this company does not take credit card over the phone and he expected me to pay western union an additional15 dollars to wire the 25. I asked if I could drive it to the office when I got off at 430 and he said no because the were closing early because it was a Friday. Well needless to say I went to clock in from lunch and at 330 I went to move my car from across the street over flow parking lot to our regular parking lot when I discovered my car was missing. I contacted A-L Financial and they said they do not know what I'm talking about and told me to call back on Monday because the were closing. They did not report it to the police that they were repossessing my vehicle so basically they stole my vehicle, it was not until a day later that they reported it to the police which makes it an illegally repossessions. This has to be illegal what they are doing to us we need to put a stop to it.
  • After filing a BBB complaint against my last four payments "never made it" to their Fresno office. I have verified postage on all four envelopes and dropped the last three off at the Post Office because the first time I thought that, legitimately, someone may have taken the payment from my locked mailbox or it may have been lost in the mail. Now, I think they are deliberately disposing of my payments or not applying them to my account. Each time I have had to pay via Western Union and pay a $13 fee for the service. CROOKS, FRAUDS, and CON ARTISTS. I urge everyone to file BBB reports and if anyone ever hears of a class action lawsuit, PLEASE let the rest of us know!
  • A L Financial can reposses by law even if you are only ONE DAY late with payment. Consumers that deal with companies like A L Financial are most likely to have very bad credit and are a high loan risk. Corporations made sure the law was instated to protect themselves. There should be laws to protect consumers by giving more days for being late with a payment, I am sure most of ALs customers have had to make large down payments for the the vehicle they wish to purchase before being approved for financing, only to have the finance company have the right to repossess with being only 1 day late payment is ridiculous. What Senator, Congressman, and Representive let that get by? We have to watch over our public figures, unfortunately not all have our best interest in mind. In the mean time I suggest the following:
    • 1. Be patient and speak kindly with the representive of the corporation (remember one day late payment gives them the right to repossess) if you find you will be late with payments. They do have other options to help you.
    • 2. Make payments before the due date, for example if your payment is due on the 15th of each month make it your goal to pay them by the 1st.
    • 3. If you can pay a little more then the payment. Example: payment is 350.00... instead you pay 380.00 or 400.00 only if you can.
  • Try being a repair shop that gets stuck with one of their cars. September of 2008, I had a customer bring in their car for repair. They were all gung ho when they dropped off the car to be fixed. But when they attempted to pick up the car, the customer attempted to pass a NSF Check for the $1136.00 in repairs, they stated they would go to the bank and bring cash. I was nice, understanding, and willing to work with the customer. Well a month and a half later, I received a call from A-L Financial in Santa Ana, CA, informing me that they were coming down the next morning to pay and pick up their car? Next morning I get a gentleman (??) who states he is there to pick up the car and wants to pay with a atm card (Illegal in California, cashier check or cash), while a second gentleman is sneaking around the property looking for the car. When it wasn't in plain sight, he too came in the office and they proceeded to tell me what they were going to do and what I was going to do? (Sound familiar). Well needless to say it is now June 2009, nine months later. I am now a co-defendant in a Breach of Contract lawsuit where they are suing the customer for $12, 000 and me for $10, 000 for convergence, loss of use, etc... To which all I did was fix a car and try to be a nice guy. California Law states that if the legal owner wants to retrieve their vehicle from a repair shop or tow yard, they are entitled to do so. However, after they pay the reasonable bill owed! Sounds simple huh? Well not when it comes to A-L Financial. We go to trial in September, almost one year to the date of repair. They talk about their loss of uses? What about mine (ours). Not only can I not remove anything I had to pay up front for to fix the car. I have to make sure no one damages it, or repos it. Otherwise I am out my money owed. And when I went to court today I was not the only A-L Financial case on the calendar. They should have their license revoked, and be made to stand in the middle of the freeway during rush hour traffic, dodging cars, as punishment for all the hoops we have to jump through just because we were sucked into their pit. I welcome a class action lawsuit and would be willing to be one of the Plaintiffs to gladly put this F Rated company by the Better Business Bureau out of Financial Pocket. Best of luck to all my fellow A-L Pigeons.

  • The worst company in the world...4 days late and they took my car. I didn't even get my statement 4 days!!!!!
  • I recently needed to defer a payment because of a domestic violence issue that put me in the hospital and I had to relocate and fork over almost $2k to do it. I faxed over police report, pictures and statements from the county offices of the violece shelter. They told me it was not "sufficient" evidence to defer a payment and I needed to borrow the money to make up my payment. I cried and was devastated and all he did was say they are second chance financing and nothing he could do. I wish I did not have to deal with them at all.

  • I wanted to post an update on my situation with A-l. As of Jan. 25th I have made 4 verbal and 2 written requests to get a copy of an amortization schedule and "stated" I dispute the amount they claim I owe, only to be sent a payoff amount only signed by the so-called VP. I have gathered all of my payments, statements and my contract; looked up a amortization schedule on-line that allows for pre-payment entries as I have made. At this point my total reflects a difference of $774.00 that they are claiming I still owe. My figures also indicate they owe me $186. I have filed with the following organizations on my behalf: FTC, ACA, BBB, Arizona state attorney's office, Arizona state licensing board.

If I can stress anything, it would be to make sure you keep any and all records of payments, their statements and their contract.

If you take $700 (the amount above and beyond what I owe them) and times it by 1000 borrowers it is a total of $700,000. This figure is more than likely VERY conservative! If you are feeling cheated, you probably are being cheated! Check your records for accounting errors on their part...
I am actively seeking a class action lawyer to investigate them and spanish speaking translators, because a majority of their clients are spanish. Join the fight!!! These guys need to be shut down.

  • Firstly, this company has thousands of complaints online. They are a finance company that caters to those with bad credit. Sort of a last chance finance company that only deals with small dealerships. I fell one month behind on a payment when I only owed a little under $1000.00 left on a car that I had already paid them over $6000.00 including finance charges on. They repossessed my car.(first money gaining tactic) I have been tardy with my payment before and they had not taken this action. Why wait until the car is nearly paid off? Because they would be in a position to keep that all the monies that I paid and have the car also. If that is not enough to gauge the intentions of this company, when my car was repossessed, I went in the next morning and paid them every cent of the payments that I owed, all the late fee's, and a repossession fee of $345.00. I then received a bill that quoted me a new balance of $639.73 and that my next payment was due on 06/08/10. This means, after that payment my balance should be somewhere around $352.79. I then received a statement thereafter which said my balance was $988.00. I contacted the company and had to speak to a series of representatives to include the Regional Vice President Joseph Saavedra. All of which maintain that my balance was higher because I paid the repossession fee to them BEFORE they paid the repossession company. So what they are saying is this: THEY ADDED THE AMOUNT BACK ONTO MY ACCOUNT AFTER IT WAS PAID, BECAUSE THEY PAID THE REPOSESSION COMPANY!!!!!!! Um, If I paid the fee, it should then be credited to my balance. Why does it matter when they paid it to the repossession company????? It doesn’t, and they the Vice President justified what they are doing by saying it was legal. Legal to have me pay for something twice?!?! I think not. If anyone else has had issues with this company, I encourage you to contact the BBB and the Attorney General and file complaints. I will even provide details steps on how to do this. This company preys on those with bad credit and takes advantage of sensitive financial situations. If everyone who complains on these boards, files a report with the BBB and Attorney General, they would have the BBB rating that they really deserve!!!!! link

  • Company information: A-L Financial 1551 N Tustin Ave#400 Santa Ana, California United StatesPhone: 714-479-1300This is the worst company to deal with, WHY, they do not report to all credit bureaus so forget establishing yourself any credit history, Experian only, they say they will not provide a written payment history to even the customer for proof of payment, they repo cars immediately so they can resell them, that is the real business they are in, is funding loans, repo the cars and resell them, believe me they will call if you are 6 hours late, they will take the car if you are 3 days late, and the people there, Cecilia, Lilia, Omar, all of them are trained monkeys that really think what they are doing is valid in the world today. They are all crooks and you will be quite sad if you ever do business with them trust me!!
