This occurs because there is more and more automation and less human thought and reason. I once received a letter from the Getty company in Texas regarding some land left to me by my late grandmother. In the first paragrapb they correctly referred to my gram as the deceased.....then in the third paragraph they requested that I have her sign an enclosed document. I called them up.....read to them what they sent.....and then asked who pays to have Grandma exhumed for this....them or me. I did this in good humor.....and it was received that way on the other end. But the point concerning their automation practices was made.

This kind of corporate stupid behavior is typical of the idiots hired being paid too little! Look at Dell and their disgusting customer service issues. Farmed out customer service that does not have a clue what corporate tells the same customer.
I got to the point where I shredded all of my credit cards and now use only one. And that's when I go on vacation or to pay my AOL bill since they refuse to send a paper statement. As for issuing cards to the illegal immigrants, there's no excuse for this. It's like giving a bank robber the keys to the bank. I've had it up to here with the big companies' insatiable lust for cheap labor and the creeps in Washington like Ted Kennedy, Hilary Clinton and George Bush who are all wanting to sell out the ordinary middle class American while getting paid under the table by big companies to try to force this amnesty and immigration down our throats. They should all be hanged for treason.
Things to think about: (1) the NAME on the card is the same (2) the account number on the card is the SAME (3) the 3 or 4 digit security # on the back is the SAME (4) the credit limit is the SAME (5) the billing address is the SAME (6) the encoded information is the SAME (7) the expiration date is the SAME ..so there will be ONE billing statement each month. He can use one or all of the cards and when the credit limit is reached, the card will no longer be accepted. He can send one check. He should be compensated by the issuer of the card (EXXON) and destroy all of the cards, demanding a new number. PERIOD, end of story.
I dont have a problem with the immigrants that come into this great country the right way and want to better themselves and their families, I have a problem with the immigrants that come here the wrong way and demand everything for free-health insurance, while we struggle to pay for this, colleage educations for free, that you and I have to go in debt for our children to advance in there education, a drivers licenses for getting back an forth to the jobs that they are NOT suppose to have because they are not here legally! What is wrong with this picture??? I really don't know. I feel that you come here the right way then these things should be yours also.
Think if I'd been him, I'd told Mobil/Exxon to close my account under that number and would have sent all of them back to them at their expense. No way would of I spent that amount of time shredding them probably causing my shredder harm. With that many cards having the same numbers even shredding them isn't going to protect the numbers. Whats to say that they didn't screw up and there are more boxes of his card out there.
I'm not sure why we treat immigrants so badly these days, why there is so much bigotry--really, if you think about it, everybody here in the good ole US of A had to come from someplace else. Well, except our own Native Americans and dear God, look how we treated them!
This country is still the very best place to live and it seems people from everywhere else think so too. They all want what we have, what our own famililies wanted when they came here. What I want to know is, how do we treat everybody who wants what we have in a fair (legally and morally) way? I don't have the answer, do you?
i can understand this happening.exxon/mobil, is, to be nice here, messed up. i also had a nightmare with them. they quit sending statements, then began calling to ask for payments, when i had not received a statement in months. i asked 5 times to send mea statement. after much run around i closed account an cut up my card. stay away from exxon mobil. mine and this gentlemans problem are enough to make you not buy from them
why do people have to put down immigrants to this country...
I don't know of anyone who puts down legal immigrants. It's the illegals that tick me off though. Why should they be rewarded for breaking the law by allowing them to stay here? Would it be the same if someone robbed your house; would it be fair if they were told "oh well, since you've done it and you got away with it for a week we'll just forget about it and let you keep the stuff"? Come on, get real!
