My ear got plugged this week when I put in an earplug and compacted the earwax in my ear to the point where the buildup plugged my ear. I had this happen once before and it was very uncomfortable and I was even dizzy from it. But this time, not so much.
The last time I used olive oil, but didn't wait a very long time before finally going to the doctor to have them squirt a big syringe of water into my ear.
This time I thought I would do it on my own.
The ear wax removal kit I bought had a small rubber bulb included. But the bulb was probably not big enough to get a really good flush going. The commercial solution, based on a kind of peroxide, didn't seem to do a lot of good. It did loosen the ear wax and I was able to get a little of the ear wax out, enough that air was reaching my ear drum and my hearing was restored.
Unfortunately, this afternoon I went to use an earplug to take a nap, and immediately realized that I had blocked my ear again.
So this time to loosen the earwax I am sitting here blogging with my head titled to one side while squirting some fresh olive oil in my ear every few minutes. I have a larger nasal aspirator bulb here that I will use in a little bit ot see what progress I can make on getting this plug gone.
