How do you evaluate the savings from joining a prepaid legal plan?

One of the difficulties with a discount group is that you may not know who the prefered providers are until after you join and pay for the prepaid service. If you think you'll need the services, and can find out who the prepaid legal service would provide for you to use, get some quotes from that provider on what you'd pay for the service with and without a membership in the prepaid plan. Also, since many providers often use this as a form of marketing, they are looking for opportunities to upsell a more expensive service. Make sure you know what the benefits are from joining the prepaid legal if you need more extensive services from the attorney.
