Is there any difference between sugar from sugar beets and from sugar cane?

No. There is no difference in the Sugar produced from cane and beet. Sugar cane is a giant grass that grows in a tropical climate and stores sugar in its stalk. The sugar beet grows best in a temperate climate and stores sugar in its white root. The same sugar (sucrose, a disaccaride) is also found naturally in all fruit and vegetables.
