  • Posted as a comment about the Octomom having a surgery for removing half her uterus because of fibroid tumors - Once upon a time in a galaxy far far away ... people were raised under a belief system that encouraged them to go forth and multiply. Have as many children as YOU can support. Over the years the current society has diminshed the Bible. Now the only parts they can remember are the parts the talk about sharing and caring. Todays children believe that means those who choose to work must share the fruit of their labor with those who choose not to work, those who have earned and saved must share with those who would rather stay home and smoke dope and watch soaps, Oprah and Ellen. If those sections of the Bible are acceptable guides, then so is the rest of it. If the rest is not acceptable, then none of it is. Both the old and the new testaments tell us the two basic rules: There is only one God - honor Him, do unto others as you would have them do to you.

    • Mr. Obama said ""Although.we have a large Christian population, we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation, or a Jewish nation, or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values."
    • The only way to mitigate the outrageous statement made by the President is the consideration that he may have missed American History 101 while attending Muslim Madrassah schools in Kenya, or Indonesia.
    • The word haughty is used synonymously for the word arrogant both as the dictionary definition and in the Bible. It is often defined as pride but in many cases it is used to describe the business of putting someone down to lift your self up. It's rarely effective because it usually results in others seeing you as condescending and deceitful. The rest of the world will have to answer the question of whether Mr. Obama is either of these things but for many Americans the question is already answered.
    • The Bible has a more universal answer that warrants serious attention because it is a condition usually associated with the demise of a man or an entire nation. Its usage in this particular passage has to do with the ensuing final intervention of God in the affairs of men and judgment. To wit, "And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible." (Isaiah 13:11)
  • Newsweek's Headline, The End of Christian America, echoes Obama's, "We are not a Christian Nation"
    • his dangerous proclamation was a sign of weakness, and submission, to the radical Islamic enemy that is determined to bring down the West.
    • Early America's fear of King-led theocracies, however, does not automatically mean that the Founding Fathers desired the extreme opposite, either. They were deeply rooted in Faith. Though accused of being simply a deist, Thomas Jefferson invoked the name of Jesus Christ often in speeches, letters to his wife and colleagues, and in casual conversation. It is hard to believe that someone accused of being opposed to the belief in Jesus Christ would use the name of the Lord so many times in his day to day dealings.
    • The Declaration of Independence and United States Constitution are filled with references to the Almighty God, as well. In fact, in the book The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States by Benjamin F. Morris (1864) the argument is presented that the founding of this nation was full of the evidences of the molding presence of Christian truth, and of the power and goodness of Divine wisdom in rearing up a Christian republic for all time. The book, written long before America reached its one hundredth birthday, claims that Christianity was the spirit and aim of the early founders of our institutions in this nation.
    • America was once a nation that enjoyed private property rights, limited government, and a trust in God that enabled her to become strong and prosperous. Now, as Godless socialism pervades our expanding government, immorality washes through our society, and our enemies become emboldened by our weakness that has resulted from degradation, one must ask a very important question: Is Losing God Worth It?
