At Daniel's Boat, study being led by Tom

Matthew 10:1
10 And ?a?when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

The source of Authority:
Matthew 28:19-20 - ?18? And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ?l?“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. ?19? ?m?Go ?3?therefore and ?n?make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ?20? ?o?teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am ?p?with you always, even to the end of the age.” ?4?Amen

The authority is a given. Therefore, I am authorizing you....

Luke 9:1

9 Then ?a?He called His twelve disciples together and ?b?gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. ?

2? ?c?He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. ?3? ?d?And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.
?4? ?e?“Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. ?5? ?f?And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, ?g?shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
The New King James Version. Nashville : Thomas Nelson, 1982, S. Lk 9:1-5

Luke 10:19
?19? Behold, ?y?I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. ?20? Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but ?6?rather rejoice because ?z?your names are written in heaven.”
The New King James Version. Nashville : Thomas Nelson, 1982, S. Lk 10:19-20

Power over "ALL" the power of the enemy. You and I, all of us who believe in Christ, have authority to cast them out.

Matthew 16:19, speaking to Peter

?19? ?q?And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth ?8?will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
The New King James Version. Nashville : Thomas Nelson, 1982, S. Mt 16:18-19

Jesus talks about the keys of the kingdom. Not sure of where else he refered to them in this way. Peter walked on water, mount of transfiguration, jumped out of the boat to swim to Jesus. For many years thought these keys were for Peter, but one day realized that wasn't true. The disciples were told in the great commission to teach the world to observe all that was instructed by Jesus.

What does it mean to loose? - You probably know the story of the woman Jesus refered to as the daughter of Abraham who was bound up with a spirit of afflication. when Jesus saw her, he knew her spirital and physical condition. The first thing he says, when he comes to minister to their needs, he told the woman she was loosed, or untied, from her affliction. Another way of saying he loosed the bounds that bound her and kept her bent over. Jesus came to set the prisoners free. She had been bound for 18 years, but Jesus set her free. We have the authority to speak into the heavens. Things that are a given in an area, such as unbelief, they are powered by a spirit of unbelief in the heavens (Ephesians 2:1)

And ?a?you He made alive, ?b?who were dead in trespasses and sins, ?2? ?c?in which you once walked according to the ?1?course of this world, according to ?d?the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in ?e?the sons of disobedience, ?3? ?f?among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in ?g?the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and ?h?were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
The New King James Version. Nashville : Thomas Nelson, 1982, S. Eph 2:1-3

There is literally a spirit of disobedience. It is part of our nature to disobedient, but it is God who set us free from it.

We all have the authority to look into the heavens. We all have special gifts. We are sharing the gifts of our grace. I have looked into the heavens, and say "I bind the spirit of disobedience, and I render it powerless."

"that Jesus partook of flesh and blood so he can render the devil powerless"

Sharing scriptures about authority in Christ, there is a difference between authority in power. Jesus says "All authority given to me... therefore.... go..." That is authority.

Because the power of the holy spirit is there, and Jesus talked about goign to the upper room and waiting for power from on high, that was the power of the holy spirit. Whatwe are saying right here, only loud enough to reach a few dozen feet, it is insignificant, compared to what the Holy Spirit can do.

Story of commanding an evil spirit to leave: At an open mike night, where someone was using a repetitious phrase. I thought it was all hip, all cool. He started to jerk. And then I realized it was an evil spirit, and I got upset. I just in my mind, commanded the spirit to be bound away from there. Immediately the man went limp.

Tom shares with us some of his banners
"In God We Trust"

Holding an American flag in one hand, our national emblem, and in the other hand a Bible.
Our national motto honoring our God.

I pray over the states, over the spirit fo insubordination, millions crossing our border without any regard to our laws, that is the spirit of insubordination. I realized, as it came to me, I might look at the map of Arizona, and bind the spirit of insubordination over this border.

I thought I would show you these things, and let me pray a little bit, you can participate if you want.

Prayer

  • Ps 89:14 - perfect righteousness and justice
  • ii cor. 3:17 - where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. I release the spirit of the Lord to fill the whitehouse, and the office of the president... and the senate, and congress, and the supreme court.
  • Giving thanks for the spirit of the Lord that brings liberty
  • Asking for spirit of the Lord upon Arizona... "When the enemy comes in like a flood.... the spirit of the lord...."
