My take on Mohammed and the Koran: Mohammed was a shrewd auto-didact who soaked up his knowledge of Judaism and Christianity at caravansary campfires, picking up snippets of the Old and New Testaments from priests, monks and rabbis telling tales to pass the time. Mundane, but that is what the truth in these matters usually is.
