| The wounds of the past can reach into our present affect in our relationships and behavior in adverse ways, anger, depression, & shame are just a few of the symptoms that point 2 such unhealed wounds. Until we effectively deal with those wounds they will continue 2 hinder us from enjoyin' the present. God knows the pathway that will lead 2 our freedom from these old hurts. He knows how 2 orchestrate the healin' process. And when we are ready 2 begin, we need only ask him, & he will gently begin 2 lead us through it, walkin' with us from beginning 2 end. When our luv 4 others causes us 2 suffer, our instinct is 2 build walls around our ? 2 protect ourselves from being hurt again. The only problem with wallin' ourselves in is that, in doing so, we also wall out luv. When we take our wounds 2 our heavenly Father & allow him 2 comfort & heal us, we will find that we, 2, can remain open 2 give & receive luv. From our ?, flow the issues of life. Live life 2 the fullest, It`s about 2 be 2012, time 2 luv again. |

- Garnet Chaney - Another part of His solution is that we need to learn to look to Him and not ourselves. When we spend time to contemplate suffering He went through to make the infinite sacrifice He made on Calvary, we begin to understand that He can truly understand our pain as well. By focusing on Him, we can let go of the focus on self that defined our past.
- Neworleans Realest White - And it also says that God wants to heal our hearts. And that real life is lived from the inside, and we cannot fully live - even with whole bodies -if our hearts are not made whole in Christ. God longs to heal our heart. He wants to lead us into a life as he intended it to be lived - with joy from inside out.
- Garnet Chaney - The true gospel good news is not just forgiveness. Forgiveness is a very important first step. But to experience the good news fully, one must surrender to transformation. The gospel good news is that the same grace that forgives us is sufficient to transform and restore us. The gospel good news is that of restoration to our original creation as we were made perfect from the hand of the Creator in Eden. We don't have to rely just on forgiveness for making the same mistakes again and again. We're offered the chance for victory over sin, for transformation into perfection, to be creatures who would rather die than dishonor God by sinning.
- Neworleans Realest White - Amen! Right on.
| 2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Here is a key principle of the Christian faith – beholding with open face the glory of the Lord, we become changed into the same image. As we behold Christ, (John 1:29) as we feed upon Him, (John 6:51) meditate upon Him and consider Him, (Heb 12:3) we receive of His Spirit (John 15:26) and we become like Him in character. We aspire to be like Christ in every way. We drink deeply of His character, His trust, His Faith in His Father. We receive of His mind (1 Cor 2:16) and we become like Him. God has promised to complete this work of transformation in us, He has begun the work and He will finish it (Phil 1:6). As we measure Christ, His sacrifice and His work (Rev 11:1,2) we are changed into His image. |
