As a disability advocate, I have to say, digital media has been a boon to those with disabilities who want to pursue educations and careers. The ability to create simple software that can be adjusted for the specific needs of an individual with impaired vision or light sensitivity has brought many light years ahead of where they would be had they to rely on printed books.
On a personal note, I love the feel of an actual book. I know everyone loves the nook, but there is something special about getting that anxiously awaited book from the library or bookstore, or taking a leap of faith on a $5.00 box of books at a yardsale or book sale. So while both have value, I think the digital media is probably more practical
