- My idea: Disable user account control for the duration of the install - Didn't try
- Ignore the error on a full install of Tomcat 5.5.23. The system tray icon will appear, with "Configure" the only option.
- Change startup type to automatic
- Service start is no a given option.
- Going to windows services applet will say the service is marked for deletion if installed immediately after an uninstall.
- Uninstall reinstallation, reboot, then install.
