A friend of mine loves to condemn the abuses of organized religion. He's right, especially if he considers modern day isms that have a lock hold on our public life, and that constantly battle to keep God out of the public discourse and decision making process. Unfortunately he rants against organized religion as his example of why fundamentalists should not be allowed a say in the public sector.

I think a few examples, and some thoughts, about why institutions ruled by secular humanism are not delivering something better than Godly Biblical principles, is instructive on the need to bring some level of Biblical principle back into public life. Secular humanists and their devotion to the God of Darwin are incapable of rescuing us from the morass they have created.

I found a any:sad report of modern day abuse by the religion of psychiatry where a lady was kept in a psychiatric emergency room for 24 hours and ended up dying on the floor without assistance, nothing other than a videotape marking her passing. The waiting room for an emergency room is the last place one would expect as a studio for a snuff film, but that is what the security camera recorded. Why was this woman not offered natural remedies and spiritual counselling for her condition, which was said to be agitation over loss of a job and possible loss of her housing. Because secular humanists, who have defined psychology as an alternative to God's explanation for our condition, have nothing spiritual to offer someone who is in a spiritual crisis...

More thoughts here about why other god-less religions in control of our public institutions such as health and the courts are making similar mistakes: any:Should fundamentalist principles be banned from government.
