  • Bigfoot site stuns the world - It was a hoax! http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-10020784-71.html
    • Regardless of how many more Searching For Bigfoot T-shirts have been sold over the last week, I believe I was hurt by this deception and I hope you do too. And I look forward to each of us receiving, at the very least, several hairs from the gorilla suit.
    • Readers Comments:
    • Like I said before....When I heard they put "bigfoot" in their freezer I knew it was a hoax... But I do give them credit for being creative to attract attention......This may cost them though in the long run but with the topic of bigfoot I guess you have to keep creating a buzz......Mike
    • You are a complete fool if you didn't realize what this was all about in the fist place. Anyone investing in such a bogus and obvious plot to gain PR to their website surely deserves what they get LOL...If you invested in this I have a bridge to sell ya..
    • why can't they just put these idiots in jail and stop this scamming. couple weeks in the cell with [BigFoot] Bubba will make them think next time.
    • The reason the police officer participated in a fraud is to let people know that they should be very careful about trusting ANYONE. Too many times he's seen innocents taken advantage of. It's his way of saying, "Smarten up!"
    • I think the real lesson learned is not to trust the police.
    • You heard it here first: I bet this is somehow connected to the next Sacha Baron Cohen (BORAT) movie coming out next Summer! Mark my words on this one.
    • I will tell you what is really scary about this whole affair, the people that believe this trash are registered voters.
    • STOP the presses ... are you telling me that cops actually lie to, and defraud the public? I'm stunned. I'm shocked. First I find out that Big Foot wasn't found (yet) and now you dash my hopes and dreams with the news that cops are crooked filthy lying deceptive trash with badges. Say it isn't so.
    • This is the oldest PR game in the book. Unfortunately, this is also what gives PR a bad name. Notice how these guys have managed to keep this in the media for the better part of a week? Tell me there's not some slightly more important subject for the watchful eye of fourth estate. Actually, it is a sad commentary on the poor state of the press in our modern electronic world that it can be so easily lead down the path of reporting pure crap, fed to it by obvious con artists. Are we so hungry for "news" that any pap can be fed to "journalists" only to have it pushed out in circus form? The real deal is that way too many "stories" pushed out in the media today are not reported, they are fed to "journalists" by publicists through various means. I'll take one fact-checked article for every 100 lines of bull---- any day.
    • Those who had their lives disrupted and traumatized by the story that there was a bigfoot and then the oh so surprising revelation that said story was a hoax did not have a life to begin with. I believe we all have more important things to do then to even worry about whether there might be one bizare creature in a remote area in another state. Jobs ,education, bills, chores, and children I believe take up most of our time in any given day. After all we have the crashing mortgage industry, the fighting and cease fire negotiations in georgia, the continuing war on terror with changing countries(1984 anyone?), the energy problems, and the presidential elections to worry about. Each of these will have far more impact on our daily lives than any bigfoot, loch ness monster, or monatrauk monster could possibly. So those who had their lives traumitized by this , just forget about it and pick up a new hobby.
    • Two points of contention:
      • 1. The first thing that tips you off it's a hoax is that they didn't follow proper police protocol. Anything that looks remotely like a human is automatically brought to the attention of emergency services. Just because the main perpetrator was a police officer does not exclude him from that. A local forensic pathologist would have at least confirmed first that it was not human.
      • 2. They took $50K from a group in California to promote their 'find' fraudulently. Defrauding anyone of their money is a crime. If they are guilty of fraud they should go to jail. A police officer should know better.
  • Engineer's brain changed into an artist by stroke - http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-10021182-71.html
    • After the Bigfoot saga, here are some monsters that are far more real and whose creation will make you feel that humanity does have some goodness after all.
    • If this story does not restore your faith in the utter random, crazy madness of life, then you are a gorilla suit and you live in a freezer

Google search for freezer "gorilla suit" gives 1150 results.

    • Men who made claim didn't show up for CNN's "American Morning"

  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - I wouldn't bet my paycheck that they do not exist....I lived and worked in the woods of the Washington Coast and know different. I think the hoax is funny, it just shows what the press can do when they gush out any story prior to getting the facts...which is the way of press coverage now a days...always wanting the "SCOOP....well you got scooped and duped and it's funny as all get out...serves ya right!!!! less

  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - They should have to reimburse travel expenses to all the media who traveled there for the press release. They should have to reimburse travel expenses to all the media who traveled there for the press release. less
    Pat
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - A cop and a correctional officer?? Is that even true. Maybe they should be sent to the real animals they suposedly protect us from. They should do time as well as their promotor. They can meet our urban bigfoot bubbas!!!
    Spanky
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008Everyone who doesn't wear a foil hat knew it was a hoax, just more useless media focus.
    • Jail time is deserved due to the exchange of money. Scam artists should be punished.
    • A couple of "good old boys" trying to "git their picture on the television!"
      Zack
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - Two things need to happen to these guys: one, they should be thrown in jail for interferring with real research and wasting all that money, and two, they need to get a life!! Who in the world has time to put on stupid hoaxes like this!?
    Marrque
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - Surprise! It's not real. I was actually excited. I guess I was gullible, too.
    Jonny
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - I didn't care if it was real or not, but the people that did, do they get to wrap soap in a towel and beat them with it? I mean these guys gotta pay for wasting people's time and making some people believe, right? Maybe all the people that were let down can take turns smacking them in the face, one shot from everyone. Really, don't you wish idiots would stop wasting time?
    Bob R
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - What if...just what if this really is not a hoax and these 2 guys were paid an awful lot to say it was a hoax to protect the species. I cannot understand why these poeple would go through all this with news conferences and telling people that the non believers would eat thier words, just to all of a sudden say "yup it was just a hoax" I dont understand. There is still that spot in my mind that thinks perhaps, to avoid 100,000 hunters, flocking to Georgia, they may have been paid BIG BUCKS to take the fall. What do you guys think??

  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - Mountain gorillas were found in a part of the world chock-full of the fossil remains of many species of anthropoid apes and early humans. "Bigfoot" supposedly lives in areas which have ZERO evolutionary evidence of any form of primate life, much less humanoid. The comparison isn't apt.
    Tina
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - Whitton and Dyer are complete idiots! Complete disregard for others, in time, effort and $$. What losers!!
    Mark
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - A little Google would have gone a long way there Stanford man.
    Diane
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - I never believed in bigfoot until I actually saw one back in 2001. It is the only logical explaination to what I saw. Bears don't stand upright for long periods of time, transients don't wear fuzzy parkas in really hot weather and what I saw was over 2 feet taller than the BFRO person who came to check it out. It's been over 8 years now but I still remember looking back after I got to my car and seeing black hairy legs walking away from me. And I never would have even seen it if it wasn't for my dog not letting me go any farther on the trail.
    John
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - She looks a lot like my ex-wife.
    Anonom
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - Yes but mountain gorillas and 1900 century technology are not the same as 21st century technology and Bigfoot. A corpse would have been found by now if these things existed, not to mention reports come from nationwide which means they would exist in bulk. This does not damage the credibility of any evidence because there is no real evidence.
    • Claims about aliens are about a thousand times more likely to be real. that is something that is possible, infinite space.....infinite possibilities for life. The idea of having not found a LARGE creature like this is just not feasible. Bigfoot claims are the dumbest out of all the "paranormal" sightings people have, hopefully this is now debunked for good....
      Luke F
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008This was so easy to predict. The amount of attention it got from the media was silly.

  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - If jail is in order for the guys that made this false claim, what about the hoax that were the reasons for the Iraq war? How about a visit to the Hague?

  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - Haaaaa.. every once in a while somone pulls off another good hoax.. And then there are the folks that actually buy into it.. When they were passing out brains, they never got in line.

  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - Quote:
    • "I feel so sorry for Tom Biscardi, he was greatly hurt in this, it was so unfair to do to him."
    • Why? If he wasn't a part of the hoax he showed that he has no credibility since he was taken in so easily after being part of previous hoaxes. Most people realized it was fake right from the start and we weren't privy to the upfront examination he was.
      TEX!
  • updated Wed August 20, 2008 - I must admit I'm a bit disappointed it's not real. I was kind of hoping it was, just to shake things up. Oh, well.
    boco
  • updated Tue August 19, 2008 - Tom Biscardi is connected with some pretty major hoaxing - shame on CNN for not doing their research and allowing this fool to make fools of them. I hope this is the final nail in the coffin for this joker. There's still a lot of good big foot stories and reports at bfro.org - chekc it out if your interested.

  • updated Tue August 19, 2008 - I am hairy and have big feet. Is it possible that I am Sasquatch?
    Nick
  • updated Tue August 19, 2008 - The original story never explained how only two men could have lugged a 500 pound corpse from the middle of the woods and into a freezer somewhere. This alone should have been a tip that this story was bogus.

  • updated Tue August 19, 2008 - I'm so sad. How can they do such an evil act? They played with our feelings, they shattered our hopes... Bigfoot will turn out, I am positive.
    Martha
  • updated Tue August 19, 2008 - CNN has turned into a tabloid. Now, seriously, where are the news? Not here. Speaking of "here," why am I here? I need to find a better place to get my daily news...
    Come on
  • updated Tue August 19, 2008 - Hey, I'm bored. Let's go out in the mountains. OK, and while we're there we'll pretend to have run into a bigfoot. OK, should we go to Nepal because I don't know if I can afford it. Well, let's just go to the Georgia mountains. Umm.....
    come on, seriously
