From the supplier: Two approaches to job hunting are described. In the first case, an unemployed real estate manager took the traditional route and relied on the want ads and his very detailed resume to land him a job. After several months of waiting, he finally found new employment but it was not as lucrative or as prestigious as his old job. He was unhappy with the new job, although he was grateful that he was employed again. The second case involves another real estate manager who took the contrarian approach to job hunting. When it became clear that he was going to lose his job, he spent his remaining days with his firm exploring opportunities in other companies and assessing his career options outside real estate. He did not pay attention to classified ads, knowing that the jobs he wanted were not advertised, and went to talk directly to the persons he wanted to work for. By the time he was officially laid-off, the real estate manager has already received two attractive job offers.
