Chain of Custody is the documentation and testimony about the possession, movement, handling, and location of evidence from the time it is gathered to the time it is presented in court. Chain of custody is used to prove that the evidence has not been tampered with or changed in ay way. It is necessary to assure admissibility and probative value.
