H1. French version of the Walter Haut 1993 Affidavit
from rr0.org

Translation of the French:
In 1993, it deposits under oath:
- My name is High Walter.
- My address is: .
- I am reprocessed.
- In July 1947, I was stationed at the military air base of Roswell where I occupied the function of officer in charge of the public relations. Towards 9. 30 of the morning on July 8, I was called by colonel William Blanchard, the commander of the base, which said to me that it had in his possession a flying saucer or pieces of a saucer. He said that it came from a ranch to the North-West of Roswell and that the officer of information of the base, the commander Jesse Marcel, was going to take along the material to Fort Worth by plane.
- Colonel Blanchard said to me to write a press release on this operation and to give it to the 2 newspapers and the 2 stations of radio of Roswell. It wished that the local media be informed the first. I initially went with KGFL, then with KSWS, then in Daily Record and finally in Morning Dispatch.
- The following day, I read in the newspaper that the general Roger Ramey, to Fort Worth, had said that the object was a balloon weather.
- I believe that colonel Blanchard saw the remains because it seemed affirmative on the nature of these remains. There is no chance so that it confused them with a balloon weather. In the same way, there is no chance so that the commander Marcel made this error.
- In 1980, Jesse Marcel said to me that the remains photographed in the office of the Ramey general were not those which it had recovered.
- I am convinced that the recovered remains were those of an unspecified type of vessel come from space.
- I did not receive any form of payment for this declaration, which represents the truth such as I remember it.

| May 1997, CNI News Also noted in the history of KTVU (April 23, 1997) is the fact that Walter Haut, former officer of press of the 509ème Escadrille of Bombers with Roswell AAF which had emitted the famous press release of July 8, 1947 proclaiming the recovery of a flying disc, states today to have apris a few days after the advertisement that "it has screw up." Although largely quoted these last years as believing that an unusual apparatus had been recovered, the history of FOX news showed Haut saying that it thought that it was right a balloon. Haut was one of the founders of origin of the International UFO Museum in Roswell (New Mexico), but now cut all the bridges with the museum. The current director of the museum Deon Crosby indicated to CNI News that Haut had qualified the declarations of UFOs of "just has bunch of hooey". |
