Trading Diary
This section documents trade diary for each trading day. Alexander Elder suggests recording where trading ideas come from with each trade. I am going to record profit from Tim Alerts trades separate from my OTA trades. Probably I should also tease out my "experimental" trades and record them separate from my by the rules OTA trading. For now, I'll record the difference in comments.

Trading Diary - Garnet - 2010-01-31] Sunday
2010-01-31: The last book I read was Book Notes - Trading For A Living by Alexander Elder. I have been reading through his descriptions of various indicators, and am now on the chapter where he describes his own, but my eyes are kind of glazing over. So many traders say they trade without indicators, and others say that a lot of indicators are not as useful and responsive as they used to be, for many reasons such as program trading. I have also been having a lot more success with Timothy Sykes short selling techniques, I am now up for three weeks in a row, and up for the entire month of January even. I think I found the earlier chapters of Elder's book more helpful when he talked more about psychology of trading. I didn't realize I had bought a copy of Brett's book, so now I am going to work on reading his book. I have read part of the way through it before.

Trading Diary - Garnet - 2010-02-04 $350 Trading Diary - Garnet - 2010-02-05 -$312 (High $1035) - $666 on ARG after it gapped from $43 to $62 on hostile takeover bid for $60/share. I got 1K short at $61.60 to 60.89. Got out after stock spent 30 minutes consolidating just below $61 after dip to $60.50.
- Tried to make some money in etrade, but $12.99 commissions are murderous. Got short 100 shares ARG ~61.27, and then decided to use margin to go short 100 more at $60.75, average $61.01. Unfortunately exit was about $60.91, not enough to cover the 3 commissions.
- Made $40 on AENY long overnight in etrade account.
- Overtraded $1035 down to $312 loss
Weekly wrap up Big challenge.... Gave back $124 of the $907 trying to get a little more out of ARG... Still have +$778.... Now gotta deal with the psychology issues, and stay out of the market... On Monday got $725 ahead by 10:46, then gave back $540 trying to force trades.... Yesterday got $960 ahead by 3:41, then gave back $620... Wednesday was $1600 loss fooling with shorting SNDK, BRCM, etc when patterns were not ideal..... Really have to learn only to trade really good patterns, I am having best luck with Tim trades in the morning.... If I stop now, I will be $188 ahead, with another +$213 in open positions.... - Total for the year -$414, -$923 for the week
