You thrive in a smallish team of superstar developers whose charter is one of the biggest websites on the planet: the main IMDb.com website.
You write code that scales to millions of operations a day across a large fleet of servers. You heart UNIX. You regularly hang out with your buddies Perl, SQL, Mason, and Ajax. You distrust code that doesn't "use strict" or have a unit test.
You move fluidly between functional and object-oriented programming models, whichever works best for the problem at hand. You automate as much as possible. You are fundamentally a problem solver, and boy does IMDb have problems to solve: large data sets, increasing scale, increasing expectations for site visitors who want their data to be fresh, relevant, accurate, and easily updated in realtime. These and a strong cup of coffee get you up on Monday morning.
