Macintosh Enable Root User

The root user is not enabled by default. To enable the root user, you need to use the Directory Utility, currently located at:
/System/Library/CoreServices

Authenticate and, under the Edit menu, you will be able to enable root and set the password.

The usual caveats apply: root is very powerful, don’t run as root, etc.
