  • What is the maximum number of thumb drives you could hook up to a PC at the same time?
    • A lot of machines have 23 drive letters available (D: to Z
    • Perhaps Linux could mount an unlimited of number of solid state thumbdrives?
    • Of course you might need a lot of powered hubs for all of them? Or do they draw so little power that a bunch of thumb drives could be plugged into an unpowered USB hub?
    • How much throughput would you lose by chaining USB hubs?
  • What would happen if you partitioned a SQL Server 2005 database across a bunch of flash drives?
