I don't have an iPhone, I still haven't touched an iPhone, or even seen one in person!
I'm trying to see how long I can hold out and remain an iPhone luddite. |
iPhone Mentions
- Ho houm, another screen only with no buttons phone. I've had those for years, starting with the first Samsung Palm Pilot PDA phone. One of the biggest problems with them is no buttons to dial your cell phone while you are driving. (Yes, I know, the nanny government is making that against the law, but give me a break, I know where the buttons are by feel, I don't need to look to dial if I got some buttons.) The other problem is that they are usually difficult to see in direct sunlight. I've decided to wait out the iPhone craze, so I've been following all the various Compilation of Dozens of Reasons Not To Get An iPhone
iPhone Screen Resolution
- Donna McGahan
got snapshots of Confluence Wiki On iPhone . Sure looks like a higher resolution than "480-by-320-pixel resolution at 160 dpi" source . Her blog post almost tempts me... Better get busy on adding some more to the Compilation of Dozens of Reasons Not To Get An iPhone
- Oh wait, silly me... The old PC-6700 I'm using has a resolution of 240x320, so called QVGA, or quarter VGA. So the iPhone is a bbigger resolution! It's about time someone made a phone with a higher resolution, my libretto has had a resolution of 1280x768 (about 6 times more room than iPhone) on a screen that I am sure is only 3 or four times bigger than the phone.
- Cure for this envy: Sprint USB Modem for your libretto, so you can have a full screen to use while browsing the net over a cellular connection. iPhone is cute, but a real laptop with cellular link to the internet should still be way more functional. Or try one of the Mini PCs and Micro PCs
 | My comment to Donna
OK, Donna, you convinced me to at least start writing about the iPhone, even if I'm still trying to be an iPhone luddite. I'm trying to see how long I can hold out as the last techie person to touch an iPhone.
However, seeing Confluence come up so nicely on the iPhone does tempt me, slightly. I still think I'll still stick with my Libretto and my Sprint USB Modem...
Let me know if you find any warts with the phone, I'm busy compiling all the list of reasons to not buy an iPhone that I can find...
