I watched as our new tomcat Braveheart jumped up on the bathroom sink, and was staring very intently at the mirror image of his sisters eating at the food bowl in the hallway outside the bathroom. His own reflection was much closer to him, and bigger, but he ignored that, and was obviously very interested in watching his new sisters via the reflection in the mirror. Was this cat demonstrating that cats are self aware? I research this more and posted a survey of Mirror tests, self awareness, and cats...
